Believed to have been made in the 1930’s.
The motif used on this basket also appears on a basketry table made by Agnes McInnes (see PR 1988-058).
This basket was suggested to be the work of Mrs. Harry of Church House by Elizabeth Harry.
Large rectangular basket with carrying handles (one of these has broken off).
Material: Cedar root, cedar wood slats. Designs are rendered in bitter cherry bark (natural red colour and dyed black).
Designs: A composite beaded design made up of diamond shapes.
Techniques: Slat coiled body with a bundle coil rim and handles. False braid along edge of handles. Designs are beaded.
Overall dimensions: 50 x 39 x 25 cm.
