This basket was made by Jeannie Dominick circa 1971. It was given to her neice's eldest son on the occasion of the birth of his first child. The basket has become a treasured family heirloom and more than 10 grandchildren have come home from the hospital in it.
One slat coiled baby basket with beaded decoration and fixed leather flaps for securing the baby. An interesting feature of this basket is that the base slats are each 2 slats thick for extra strength. Whether this feature is typical of all baby baskets or unique to those made by Jeannie, is not known.
